From LightFury Games To STCH — Indian Startups Raised $39 Mn This Week

Funding trends continued to remain subdued for the world’s third largest startup ecosystem this week. Between April 20 and 24, Indian startups managed to raise $39 Mn across 15 deals. This marked a 35% decline from last week’s $60 Mn lapped up across a similar number of deals last week.
This is the lowest weekly funds netted by Indian startups in 2026.

Key Startup Funding Highlights Of The Week

- On the back of LightFury Games’ $11 Mn fundraise, media and entertainment segment emerged as the most funded startup sector this week. Besides LightFury, Spill Games also raised $3.1 Mn.
- The highest number of deals materialised in the AI segment, with three startups cumulatively securing $7 Mn.
- Rainmatter and Finvolve were the most active investors this week. Each investor backed 2 startups apiece.
- Seed-stage funding surged multifold to $17.8 Mn this week compared with $3.3 Mn raised bys startups at this stage last week.

- MTG-owned gaming studio PlaySimple Games filed DRHP for an OFS-only IPO of ₹3,150 Cr with SEBI.
- Edtech startup Emversity acquired healthcare talent mobility platform Lanstitut Technologies for an undisclosed amount.
- Dhan parent Raise Financial Services acquired algo-trading platform Stratzy in a cash-and-stock deal.
- Razorpay is planning to file for an IPO via the confidential route to raise $600 Mn to $700 Mn at a valuation of $5 Bn to $6 Bn soon.
